Old Testament
 
Psalms 18:3 ~ I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.
 
Psalms 19:14 ~ May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, O Lordl, my Rock and my Redeemer.
 
Psalms 27:14 ~ Wait for the Lord; Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
 
Psalms 34:1 ~ I will praise the Lord at all times.  I will constantly speak His praises.
 
Psalms 34:17-18 ~ The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears the; He delivers them from all their troubles.  The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
 
Psalms 40:1-3 ~ I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry.  He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.  He put a song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.
 
Psalms 46:10 ~ Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in all the earth.
 
Psalms 51:10-12 ~ Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.  Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me.  Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
 
Psalms 51:17 ~ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.
 
Psalms 86:11 ~ Teach me Your way, O Lord, and I will walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.
 
Psalms 91:1 ~ He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
 
Psalms 103:11-12 ~ For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
 
Psalms 107:1 ~ Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.
 
Psalms 119:50 ~ Your promise revives me; it comforts me in my troubles.
 
Psalms 119:105 ~ Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
 
Psalms 121 ~ I lift my eyes up to the hills - where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.  He will not let your foot slip - He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.  The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.  The Lord will keep you from all harm - He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
 
Psalms 150 ~ Praise the Lord.  Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens.  Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness.  Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, priase Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with the tambourine and dancing, praise Him with the strings and flute, praise Him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals.  Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord.
 
Proverbs 4:23 ~ Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
 
Proverbs 4:24 ~ Put away all perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
 
Proverbs 21:21 ~ He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity, and honor.
 
Ecclesiastes 5:2 ~ Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God.  God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.
 
Isaiah 12:2 ~ Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.  The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.
 
Isaiah 40:31 ~ But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
 
Isaiah 41:10 ~ So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
 
Isaiah 46:4 ~ Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you.  I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
 
Isaiah 54:10 ~ Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
 
Isaiah 55:8 ~ "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways," declares the Lord.
 
Jeremiah 1:5 ~ "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
 
Jeremiah 29:11 ~ "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
 
Lamentations 3:21-25 ~ Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope.   Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.  I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him."  The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him.
 
Habakkuk 2:3 ~ For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false.   Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
 
New Testament
 
Matthew 5:14 ~ You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill that cannot be hidden.
 
Matthew 11:28 ~ "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
 
Matthew 24:13 ~ But he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
 
John 1:1-2 ~ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.
 
John 8:28-32 ~ So Jesus said, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am the one I claim to be and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught Me.  The One who set Me is with Me; He has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases Him."  Even as He spoke, many put their faith in Him.  To the Jews who had believed Him, Jesus said, "If You hold to my teaching, you are really my dsciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
 
John 13:16-17 ~ I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.  Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
 
John 14:6 ~ Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me."
 
John 15:5 ~ "I am the vine; you are the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
 
Romans 8:1 ~ Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
 
Romans 8:28 ~ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purposes.
 
Romans 8:38-39 ~ For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
 
Romans 12:1-2 ~ Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will.
 
1 Corinthians 10:13 ~ No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to man, but God is faithful and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear.  But when you are tempted, He will provide a way out, so you can stand up under it.
 
1 Corinthians 11:11-12 ~ In the Lord, however, woman is not indepedent of man, nor is man independent from woman.  For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman.  But everything comes from God.
 
1 Corinthians 13:4-8a ~ Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.
 
1 Corinthians 13:13 ~ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.
 
1 Corinthians 16:13 ~ Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.
 
Galatians 5:22-26 ~ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Against such things there is no law.  Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.  Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.  Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
 
Galatians 6:2 ~ Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
 
Galatians 6:7 ~ Do not be deceived:  God cannot be mocked.  A man reaps what he sows.
 
Ephesians 6:12 ~ For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm.
 
Ephesians 6:13 ~ Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, TO STAND.
 
Philippians 1:21 ~ For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
 
Philippians 3:12 ~ Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
 
Colossians 3:12-14 ~ Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord has forgave you.  And all over these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
 
Colossians 3:23 ~ Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.
 
1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 ~ It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him:  The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you.  For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.  Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you His Holy Spirit.
 
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ~ Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
 
2 Timothy 1:7 ~ For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
 
Hebrews 4:12-13 ~ For the word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight.  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
 
Hebrews 4:16 ~ Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
 
Hebrews 11:1 ~ Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
 
Hebrews 11:6 ~ And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
 
Hebrews 13:8 ~ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
 
James 1:5 ~ If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without fault, and it will be given to him.
 
James 2:26 ~ As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
 
James 4:7-8 ~ Submit yourselves, then, to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Come near to God and He will come near to you.  Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
 
1 Peter 4:8 ~ Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
 
2 Peter 1:3-8 ~ His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.  Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.  For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.  For if you possess these qualities, in increased measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
 
1 John 4:4 ~ You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than he that is in the world.
 
1 John 5:3-4 ~ This is love for God: to obey His commands.  And His commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world.  This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
