Here's one poem I finished recently, and a song we sing at church that has been going through my mind lately.
Walk Free
> Deborah Jackson
I try to step forward
My weights hold me down
I try to change my path
My chains keep tripping me
I want to walk along
I want to walk free
But how can I when
These demons keep chasing me?
Freedom from my weights
Freedom from my chains
Only You have the power
Lord, free me today
Let me walk along
Let me walk free
I want to be by Your side
I want to see Your face
This song is one of my faves. It's based from Isaiah 66:1. My pastor describes it as the first half being God talking to
us, and the second half should be our response.
Resting Place
Heaven is my throne
The earth is my footstool
Where is the house
You will build for me?
Whom of you will hear
The cry of my heart?
Where will my resting place be?
Here, oh Lord, have I prepared
For You a home
Long have I desired for You to dwell
Here, oh Lord, have I prepared
A resting place
Here, oh Lord, I wait for You alone!
